ISPAB joins the ICANN Conference for the first time

For the first time, the Internet Service Providers Association of Bangladesh ISPAB has joined the policy-making GAC meeting of government representatives of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), a multi-stakeholder organization of Internet stability and security. A 5-member delegation from Bangladesh participated in the ongoing 5-day ICANN77 conference at the Marriott Hotel in Washington DC, the capital of the United States. Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) Director General Engineering and Management Department Brigadier General Md Ehsanul Kabir led the delegation comprising ISPAB President Imdadul Haque, Senior Vice President Saiful Islam Siddique, Walton Hitech Industry Head of Security Jahangir Hossain and Easy Host Representative and ICANN Fellow Shah Rahman.

This delegation has been participating in about 80 sessions held with representatives of more than 75 countries from different parts of the world. The ISPAB President said that there has already been a fruitful discussion on the empowerment of Bangladesh in domains like IP. He said that this is the first time they have joined the ISPCP representative meeting.

He also said that they have already attended joint meetings of ALAC, GAC and GNSO, GAC opening plenary session, New GTLD program session and meeting with Commonwealth representatives. Whiz and data policy were discussed. ICANN Vice President Christopher Mandini, Board Director Nicholas G. Caballero, Internet Society Foundation Program Officer Jane Baird, and Argentina's Internet Director Stefan Lescano, along with representatives of top individuals and organizations involved in Internet governance and management, and leaders of Internet Service Providers Associations from various countries. Through these meetings, during the era of AI and ChatGPT, ICANN created an ecosystem which assures the domain business management and management in a secure way through providing training to the country's engineers, to exchange the necessary engineering knowledge and experience and establishing root servers.  

It may be noted that, this conference which started from June 11 will continue till June 15.
